Natalie & Ryan had their Stonefields Wedding last week…
Again, this post is obnoxiously long. To show off the diversity of a location and what can be done with it, I find it necessary to occasionally over-post once in awhile…
Like many wedding days this summer, this day started out with lots of rain and the corresponding paranoia about the weather. It is possible that it’s just me who gets this way but for the sake of this post I will assume that everyone does. The drive out turned out to be very nice and the weather concerns were quickly abated.
We arrived early and met with the girls in the farmhouse. The farmhouse is a huge space for getting ready so it made for easy shooting even though there were lots of people there. The guy showed up a little while later and got ready in the “pub” which is also a very cool space and very close to everything. Like all couples both Natalie and Ryan were nervous but we’re completely positive and excited. They and their wedding party are no-nonsense and very fun people. You could tell right away that they have known each other for years and that there is a tremendous amount of respect between everyone regardless of the playful banter and joking around.
Once out in front of the farmhouse for the ceremony, the celebrations went on without a hitch. It really is one of the most gorgeous ceremony locations in the area. The dappled sunlight streaming through the trees and the rise up to where the wedding party stands makes for an idillic scene. Same goes for the grounds for taking photos. For someone who grew up in the country, Stonefields feels much more authentic and not contrived.
The reception was quite something. The MC at this wedding is one of the funniest people I have heard speak although half of what was said can not be repeated here. After the usual great food from Thyme & Again Catering, we were treated to some amazing hardcore dance music by Quality Entertainment. I would like to hear way more of that at weddings!
