Just to be clear, this was another winter wedding for me, not Jennifer and Greg. I assure you that this was their first 🙂
Jennifer & Greg were married at The Courtyard Restaurant just over a week ago. This has been a big year for Ottawa winter weddings and it has been a joy to take part in these events. The difference that I have noticed while shooting a winter wedding is that the focus comes off the weather, the scenery, the stuff, etc, and seems to migrate almost completely on to the people. Within 10 seconds of Jessica and I walking into Greg’s place in the west end, we knew that it was going to be “one of those” weddings. “One of those” weddings is one where everyone treats you like one of the gang from the start. These always seem to be the most down to earth people with lots of very close family and friends, and really sweet kids. People like this come from great parents and there was no shortage of them either.
To make things even more warm and perfect, Miranda from the Courtyard was on hand invisibly making things right along the way. As if that were not enough, it was great to see Bryce Healey performing the ceremony. I had the pleasure of shooting Bryce’s wedding 2 years ago and knew how great of a person he is. The ceremony was perfect as expected.
