Andrew was all that you could ask for in a wedding photographer.  He really understood what we were looking for and was very calm and relaxed on the wedding day. He has a unique ability to put everyone at ease (with a little humour) and truly brought out the best in our guests. He took some amazing photos, both posed and candid. We could not have asked for anything more.

Searching for a wedding photographer was something, to be honest, that I was dreading.  My husband and I are both a bit shy in front of the camera and don’t often have our photographs taken.  Meeting Andrew Van Beek made all those feelings disappear.  He immediately made us both feel really comfortable and at ease and made the entire process not only manageable, but genuinely enjoyable.  From the first moments of our engagement shoot at Rideau Hall, we knew we were in good hands with Andrew. He knew just what to say to help us relax and caught the perfect candid moments that showed us at our best.   Our September wedding was a damp, dreary and freezing cold day but Andrew not only kept our spirits up for all our shots, but took some incredible pictures that almost (almost!) made the weather a blessing. He captured moments at our wedding and engagement shoot that only a truly talented eye would see and we are utterly grateful for all his work.  Andrew is exactly the right mix of professional and fun – his work is impeccable and yet we felt like we had a friend with us for one of the most important days of our lives together.  The memories he created will be with us forever and I can’t wait for our paths to cross again.

I first met Andrew several years ago when he was the photographer at my friend’s wedding. I never forgot how much I loved his work and how wonderful he was at putting everyone at ease.

When I got engaged, I knew the venue and the photographer I wanted right away. From our very first meeting, we got along wonderfully and picked what we thought would work best for my vision of our wedding.
Well, it rained all day on my wedding day, but I was surrounded by so much love (not only from my brand new husband but four incredible bridesmaids, my Momma, our dogs (aka furkids), wonderful friends and family), it was impossible not be joyful. Andrew and Melanie got these incredible, wonderfully touching moments from our special day (and honestly, I often had no idea where either of them even were standing). I wanted candid, true moments (and yes, a couple of posed shots), but Andrew captured every single emotion of our wonderful day. Andrew had a blast once we tossed the umbrella and danced in the rain. The lighting and the rain made our pictures magical.

The day comes and goes, but having beautiful photos that will always bring back wonderful memories, it is priceless. I loved all the photos and just received my album today and I could not be more thrilled. Other than the groom, hiring Andrew was my second best choice on our wedding day. I would and will recommend him over and over again.
