Sarah & Ryan had their Le Belvedere wedding last week in Wakefield, Quebec…

I have to warn you right off the bat, if you don’t like photos, walk away right now. This post was so big that it had to be split into two parts! The first one (this one) covers Sarah and Ryan’s wedding from their getting ready up to the end of their ceremony.

We first worked with Sarah and Ryan last summer for their engagement shoot. I’m not going to lie, Sarah is someone who knows what she wants and is not afraid to make sure that she gets exactly that. This doesn’t mean being controlling and micro-managing, it actually means having very high standards and being a hyper-communicator.  This just so happens to be my favourite type of person to work with because you know exactly what you need to do and you want to work like mad to make it happen.  Both Sarah and Ryan knew that on the wedding day itself that they had done everything they could to make everything perfect and that allowed them to actually enjoy themselves.  This is why I looked so forward to this day…

Close to noon we arrived at The Wakefield Mill to see the girls. This was soon after a mild heart-attack when we found that the highway to Wakefield was closed about 10km out. Thankfully no one noticed as we drove backwards on the shoulder and the wrong way down an onramp to get to the back way to Wakefield. I’m really not a fan of being late.  On our arrival we were greeted with a swirl of purple and white silk as the finishing touches were being done to Sarah’s makeup and the bridesmaids and moms were about to get dressed.  All went as planned and we saw the guys at the guest house at Le Belvedere.

We couldn’t possibly have had better weather up at Le Belvedere for the ceremony. Clear blue sky with some intermittent clouds and a crowd in awe of the gorgeous view. As expected things got a little emotional during the ceremony and there were quite a few teary eyes in the crowd.  Thankfully that turned into huge smiles and applause by the end all of us guys managed to get a hold of ourselves…

Stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow!
