Brittany & Sean had their Canvas Montreal wedding at the beginning of September.
I didn’t actually get the chance to meet Brittany and Sean before their wedding day. When we met for the first time on a Lachine street, I was immediately struck by their relaxed and funky vibe. This was a couple who are immersed in the art world. Both they and their friends and family are a mix of photographers, designers, and musicians. The venue Canvas in Montréal (well, Lachine really), fit that style perfectly. With a non-descript front entrance leading up to a very large open, second floor space, you immediately see exposed brick and beams and old-style wooden floors. It reminds one of a different time in Montréal’s history.
The wedding itself was beautiful. Close to Canvas is the historic Lachine Canal which is roughly 180 years old and makes for a beautiful back drop for photos. The ceremony and reception were a constant mix of laughter and happy tears and we were treated to a signing performance by Brittany and Sean both of whom are long time and talented musicians. Needless to say, it was a truly refreshing and fun wedding to photograph.
Many thanks to Jessica for the great work and photos! And big thanks to Brittany and Sean for letting us photograph their big day.
