Andrew Van Beek started photographing weddings in 2002. Photography for Andrew started more than 20 years before that...
Andrew's philosophy behind wedding photography is that all people and couples are unique, therefore all wedding shoots are unique. The main feel of the day comes from the couple in love and their surrounding family and friends. In the end a wedding is only about the people there to enjoy the day.
Jessica Reardon started working at photoVanBeek Studio in 2011 as a coop student student just prior to entering the photography program at La Cité. Following the program at La Cité, Jessica did a month long photography internship in New York City. During the last four years she learned the ins and outs of digital processing, lighting, portraiture and all aspects of photography. Also during this time, Jessica assisted and second shot over 60 weddings all over Eastern Ontario, and Quebec.
photoVanBeek Studio is located at 1 York St in Ottawa’s historic Byward Market in the building known as “The May Building” – the oldest commercial building in the city. This location was chosen for its central location in the middle of one of the most beautiful and historic urban locations in Canada which includes The Parliament Buildings, The National Gallery of Canada, The Chateau Laurier, The National Art Centre, and of course, the Byward Market itself.
