I don’t normally do this but I couldn’t resist the Christmas connection and the romance of this shoot (yes I said romance). I was contacted a few weeks ago about photographing the actual engagement of a couple on Christmas Eve. I wasn’t able to shoot on that night so when I was asked to shoot the same thing tonight, I couldn’t say no. What follows is a surprise engagement!
The premise behind this moment is that after having eaten at Restaurant 18, the bride to be was told that their table had been drawn for a gift from Santa. I was there to get some photos for the web site (yes we are all very clever).

Finally we get to opening the “gift”…
Probably expecting a complimentary tooth pick set or a Restaurant 18 toque…
Bam!! From mild curiosity to complete shock in 0.014 seconds…
So there you have it. This is in my top 3 moments that I have photographed. A ridiculously romantic gesture by one heck of a cool groom to be. It doesn’t get much better than that.
This is oustanding it brought tears of happiness to my eye, also compliments to the photographer he really caught the essense of the moment.
